We are looking for a part-time Community Relations & Content Coordinator to help tell the stories of the people and families who make our local communities special.

This is a people-focused position for someone who enjoys meeting others, asking thoughtful questions, discovering interesting stories, and turning those conversations into well-written family feature articles for a local community magazine.

• Meet with local families and conduct interviews for family feature articles

• Write engaging, polished feature articles based on those interviews

• Coordinate and maintain the community events calendar

• Assist with occasional assignments and subjects for other magazine articles

• Develop relationships with residents and become familiar with people, organizations, and happenings within the community

• Communicate with families and community contacts as needed to coordinate interviews and gather information

• Work independently while staying organized and keeping assignments on schedule

The ideal person is:

• A strong writer with good interviewing and communication skills

• Comfortable meeting and talking with people from a variety of backgrounds

• Curious and genuinely interested in learning people's stories

• Organized, dependable, and able to follow through

• Comfortable working independently

• Personable and professional

• Familiar with or interested in the local community

Previous experience in journalism, writing, communications, education, community relations, or a related field is helpful, but we are open to a variety of backgrounds. A retired professional, teacher, writer, journalist, communications professional, or community-minded inspanidual could be an excellent fit.

Living in the community would be a strong plus, but it is not required.

This is a paid, part-time, flexible position. The work is primarily focused on family feature articles, community connections, and maintaining a strong pipeline of local content.
