Cardiac Sonographer (Echocardiography)


Summary

Bring your expertise to a role where every scan makes a difference. As a Cardiac Sonographer at Grady, you’ll be a vital part of our heart care team, performing high-quality echocardiographic procedures for adult patients and supporting cardiologists in a variety of advanced cardiac studies. You’ll operate state-of-the-art equipment, ensure accuracy in every image, and provide clear, detailed reports that directly impact patient outcomes. This role combines hands-on patient care with cutting-edge imaging, giving you the opportunity to grow your skills while making a real impact on the lives of our patients and their families.


What You’ll Do
  • Perform comprehensive cardiac ultrasound procedures, including M-mode, two-dimensional, and Doppler studies (pulsed wave, continuous wave, and color flow).

  • Assist cardiologists in performing specialized exams such as stress, transesophageal, intraoperative, contrast echocardiography, and echo-guided procedures.

  • Evaluate echocardiograms for technical quality and generate accurate summary reports.

  • Maintain and operate imaging equipment in safe, optimal condition.

  • Deliver compassionate patient care, ensuring comfort and safety throughout each procedure.

  • Uphold all Joint Commission and departmental standards of practice.


Qualifications
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (CCI or RDMS) with at least 1 year of cardiac echosonography experience.

  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in M-mode, two-dimensional, and Doppler echocardiographic diagnostic procedures.

  • Familiarity with stress, transesophageal, intraoperative, contrast echocardiography, and echo-guided procedures.
